I have seen a gorgeous colour style that I want to use in my photo portraits. How is it done? Its a deep, muted velvety or even corduroi look with rich browns and greens and reds - often used in grungy, cirque du soleil portraits or still life photos. What plugin or filter, action or colour balance values do I need? I would be so grateful for some suggestions - Ive been looking a long while.

Can you post an example of what you are looking for? It will make it easier to help as that is a very vague question, it could be overlays, textures and the list goes on and on

Thanks for replying. The photos attached have grungy elements to them - which I am confident with - its how to get the depth of colour - especially brown that eludes me.

Those are called blends. You can purchase blends for commercial or personal use or buy your own, but it is basically and overlay consisting of many layers with different blending options.
You can go to www.ilovephotography.com to get help with them there. A lot of the photographers use them, share some free ones and will know where to get them.
