Help with hair on face

I am using Photoshop CS with Windows XP. I have a beautiful senior picture of a girl with a dreadful hair laying across her eye. How do I safely remove this hair without screwing up her eye? I have tried the Magic Want, the Lasso tools and Clone Stamp but these leave obvious correction results. Any advice?

Duplicate the layer that has the image and lock it or turn it off. That way if you mess up you'll have a backup. On the visible copy layer, zoom way in, way, way in. There a few tools you can use but the Clone Stamp might work if you use it carefully with a one or two pixel soft brush displaced by only a few adjacent pixels. I like the Smudge tool myself. Used judiciously it works for me sometimes. Work in small steps. Ultimately Mr. Monroy is right and he's the expert.
