Hello, I am trying to print my first transparency to use for preparing a silk screen for printing. I am using an epson stylus 1400 with accurip software. And printing from CS3 on a mac. When I print, I have a grid of tiny dots over the whole canvas. If I turn off all the layers it is still there. All the layers were imported into the image with no backgrounds at all. I have the levels set to 254. The dots do not show when i print lettersize on white paper, but when i print on 18x13 transparent media they show. I am mystified? Any thoughts?
Thanks, Phil

If you want pure, unprinted paper, then you'll need a CLIPPING MASK.

Search this forum for "clipping path" or "clipping mask" for many answers.

It's also well documented under the HELP menu in Photoshop.

Eventhough the background is EMPTY, for some reason some imaging devices tend to put something there even though there's nothing there. It's very irritating. But the clipping path / mask tells the printer to print ONLY where you have placed pixels.
