Thought or speaking bubbles

I want to add thought bubbles and speaking bubbles to photo images. I also want to add a photo image to one of the thought bubbles. I suspect it involves the use of masks but being new to the use of Photoshop I thought I would ask here. If there is already an answer for this technique just give me a pointer. I searched but did not find any in the forum.

[Tips]

Grab your Shapes tool, pull down the "Shapes" menu in the Options bar, and then "Add new shapes" ... find the shapes library called "Talk Bubbles" ...

Now you can drag from an assortment of shapes to form the bubble you need.

Once drawn, use the Paths palette to load the shape as a selection, fill it on the layer and continue with the decorations you desire.

To fill with an image, just put the active selection on the image and 'float' a copy into the shape... Command/J or Control/J
