View Full Version : Stroked Type Effect

Hello,

Would anyone be able to tell me how to replicate the attached type effect?

If you look closely, you'll see that the external yellow border corners are not rounded, which is what usually happens when you apply a stroke in Photoshop (7.0), that is, it rounds the corners.

I looked at some old Photoshop forum questions about avoiding rounded type borders (http://photoshop911.typepad.com/help/2005/05/avoid_rounded_s.html) but, after double-clicking on one of my own trial letters, and going to "select", the modify-expand operations are grayed out.

Any clues as to how to achieve the attached type effect (without the rounded "strokes" or borders) would be really appreciated.

Many thanks,
Freddo.

Its really hard to tell from the resolution of this image, but the edges look pretty sharp to me.

Anyway, to get what you want, create the type in Illustrator, copy it and then paste it in PS as a smart object. You may have to do the color layers as separate elements if you want to duplicate the white feathered outline, but maybe not.

Hello tscreative,

Thanks for answering my question.

I'll do as you suggested.

Thanks again,
Freddo.
