I have a photo montage that I need to save as a jpeg for website use. When I saved it I noticed that the quality (sharpness, colour etc) went down considerably. Is there a trick to keep the quality?

Use File/Save for Web and then play, select JPEG from the optimization palette and adjust settings until you get what you are happy with.
