My new computer is running on Vista and has 64 rather than the standard 32 bits. It's causing all sorts of headaches with my software programs because they don't have updates for the 64 bit machines. Does anyone know whether InDesign CS4 and/or Photoshop CS4 have been written to "play nice" with a 64 bit computer? I couldn't find the answer in the software descriptions.

I've "heard" that it does. In the "system requirements" on the Adobe CS4 website: Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (certified for 32-bit Windows XP and Windows Vista). Did you dive into the support forums there? Must be something there. Check back with what you find out. I'll be getting an upgrade to CS4 soon on a XP - 32bit workstation.

I've had no end to headaches caused by buying a 64-bit machine and expecting my software to work well with it. Thus far I haven't seen any upgrades to solve the problems although my InDesign CS3 and Photoshop CS3 do work for most things. I've had my computer for 3 years and I really thought that Adobe would move more quickly into adapting to the 64-bit system. My biggest problem was getting Acrobat to work properly. This isn't a solution, just a note of commiseration.

I had the same problem.Try adding -dxlevel 80 in the set launch options. This was the only way I could get it to play. I then restarted and removed the command and the game was runing fine again.
