A simple question about Photoshop

I am trying to place a image that has text on it, and is saved as a jpeg, into Photoshop. Whenever I do this I get a message saying that it can't place it because it's the wrong type of document. What is the right type of document to save this image as?

Can you open the image using the Photoshop dialog? Can you open the image in another program and copy it, then paste in to Photoshop?

As an absolute beginner I have a simple question.
I have a scene with two layers. Layer 1 should start again at frame 1 while
Layer 2 stille is playing. Problem is that the GotoAndPlay(1) the whole
scene restarts at frame 1, while I only want Layer 1 to start at frame 1
again when it ends. How to accomplish this?
