How to change border color?

Hello everyone, I have a logo I designed with Logo Creator V5.2. I am satisfied with everyting except that border color of my letters. The letters are grayish black with a dark black border. I would like to change the border color to red,. I have tried to do this in Logo Creator and it will not allow me to change it. I figured that Photoshop can make this change, however I do not know how and have tried to research and have not had any luck. I have Photoshop CS2 V 8.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Add the text you want and use layer styles, stroke and drop shadow to the layer. (The fx button at the bottom of the layers palette)
