Creating Custom Copyright Brush w/CS2

I have Scott Kelby's book,"Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers" & on page 424, he describes how to make your own custom copyright brush to apply your copyright notice on top of your photos. I opened a new blank document, but am unable to drag the copyright symbol from the Custom Shape Picker onto the document layer. Any suggestions? Thanks.
