Brush stroke / Hand drawn effect?

Hello! I am trying to achieve a hand drawn / brush stroke kind of effect. Does anyone know the best method for this? Scanning in from scratch? Illusrator?

I have included some examples! Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

If it's hand drawn then scanning it your best route.......

Yeah I thought that might be the best route to take, but do you know the best way of getting a jagged kind of effect on the font? When ever I seem to trace it into Illustrator it just looks flat and smooth.

there are plenty of ways to do that but "jagged kind of effect" is very subjective as to the way you want it. 1st thing that comes to mind is if you rasterize your text them using a selection tool to create the effect where you want it then delete.
