Hi everyone,

I'm having a hard time dealing this technical problem in photoshop 7. I've been using this program for very long time and never encounter a problem with it. Since last tuesday, when I was using the program, it suddenly shut down. When I open it again, the program starts loading but when its done it just shut down. So i can't used it. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and have had the same result. I am getting some kind of message saying that I have a problem with my "scratch volume".

This it the exact message i get:
"You are currentlty have adobe photoshop’s primary scratch and windows primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you used Adobe Photoshop’s primary scratch volume to be on a different volume, preferably on a different physical drive."

I did some troubleshooting over the internet and found out that if the scratch volume for Photoshop is the same as the scratch volume for Windows, the program won't load. I read how to change it, but the problem is that you have to have the program open to do it...which is impossible if it won't load.

From what I have been able to find over the internet, they are probably both set to the same thing. I read that I have to open up Photoshop and change the primary scratch volume. The problem is that the program won't open so doing that is not possible. Can somebody help me with it. I am pretty dependent using these program.

Here's my system information:

operating system: windows xp professional
processor: AMD Athlon XP 1700+, MMX, 3D NOW, ~1.5GHz
memory: 256 MB RAM
page file: 238MB used, 251MB available
