Fog coming up from an imagine

Hello, I am doing a horror movie poster and I am trying to create fog to be behind the image. Does anyone have any tips or tricks I tried a few thing but it was not what I was looking for.The attached file is just a rough one as you can see I have a lot more work to do. I want the fog to be behind the girl but look like it is coming up from the image.
ALSO have good ideas for the type to make it blend in more.

I can send a bigger file so you can look at it better if you like.
