Hi there

This is my first post - I desperately need to recover these images!
I use Photoshop CS and am on Mac OS X 10.4.10

I have 700 odd wedding images in 5 folders, went to rename them as usual - but for some reason didnt check the "extension" option so now all of my jpegs are renamed but without a file tag - which means photoshop browser doesn't see them and none of my programs will open them! They are of course still in the folder - but not visible.

Aarrgh I was meant to be getting the proofs to the couple tomorrow :(

Can anybody offer any advice?

Cheers.

Hi jaynie,
Just open the file with a "regular" file manager and rename the images adding ".jpg" at the end. Surely, with 700 files you need some renaming utility. If your file manager hasn't built in batch-renaming capacity find some on the Net.

Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.

After downloading numerous file manager/renamers that wouldn't allow me to add a tag 'jpeg' to my files I was nearly ready to give upa nd re-edit from my original files.... but I ended up solving the problem by checking the 'unreadble files' box in my PS browser's menu - that made the files visible, then I batch renamed WITH the jpeg extension.

Now all files are visible nad functional ;)
