Need to remove dots/cross-hatching FAST

I have an old photo graph needing repair for a 50th anniversary. The image was blown up from a small 1956 newspaper cutting, and shows signs of very heavy cross-hatching. Is it possible to remove this at all? I really need this by this afternoon (6 hours from now) but have all day to work on it.

I'm using Photoshop CS2 on Windows XP

These are tricky because a lot of the fine detail is simply not there. I would recommend using a Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Move the slider and try to find a point where the big dots start to blur together but not so much that the picture looks completely blurry. There may be a better way but I'm not sure if you need this print-worthy or if it's for a video of some kind. At least this technique is quick so you won't waste a lot of time trying it.
