You aren't asking much are you??? Replacing backgrounds in photoshop is one of the hardest things to tackle in photoshop because you have to really KNOW photoshop inside out to get good results. If you got an image with hair in it, hair is one of the toughest things to extract using photoshop. And if you are thinking of using the extract tool in photoshop - FORGET IT! No matter what you are trying to extract because the extract tool is a destructive tool.
With that being said, I will point you to a few great sites that could help you out: http://www.dtg-forums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=561 http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/ (with Bert Monroy. Bert is one of Photoshop's leading experts and he is very friendly and informative! You can email Bert at the site.) http://www.pixelcorps.com/ (a paid site but well worth it.) Good luck!

I will admit that replacing backgrounds is more of a formidable task than can be answered in a forum, but Trevor Somers advice to "FORGET IT" in regards to using the extract tool, for instance, is bad advice. True, the extract tool is not perfect for every situation, but which tool is? What is important is the knowledge of how to use each tool, and knowing WHEN to use them considering your situation and goal. "Forgeting" ANY tool (I suspect just because you don't know how to use it yourself) is NEVER good advice.

Hi
The Background Eraser tool lets you easily remove unwanted backgrounds while retaining the fine detail in your photos. Learn how to either add a new background or move the isolated subject to a new photo. ![]() |

Yeah the background erase tool can be great, but if you save over the original, then you have lost the original info which can be useful to have . Always better to use a masking technique then to just erase stuff.

I think to replace a picture with another one first you need to clip the one with which you want to replace the another one. After clipping that pic just copy it and paste it one the desired background.
