Default how to change background

I am a new user of photo shop and i want to know how can i change my photo's background and please share some short keys for easy access.

First you select the photo, after select the photo you make selection by polygonal lasso tool, after section you go to select menu and click on inverse and press delete key to remove the old background, and add another background.
