Default Creating crisp text

Are there any hints for making text really crisp and clear?

I would have thought it was a really obvious and simple thing to do, but all the text I create in photoshop seems to be blurred.. I end up having to resort to effects like glow and drop shadows to make the text stand out, which then looks unprofessional..

What am I doing wrong?

The problem may be the resolution you are working in. Check the image size and make sure the resolution is 300 dpi or better, then your text will stay sharp and crisp.
