In the past I have created clipping paths that also have areas within the outer path so that I can lay the eps over colored backgrounds. For some reason, only the outermost path seems to be working. For example, if I were creating a clipping path of a donut, I would have a path around the outside of the donut and one on the inside of the donut (actually the same path, just 2 parts) and could save as a clipping path and everything would work fine. Now only the outer path activates. Any suggestions?

Well, we all love donuts (doughnuts?) and it would indeed be a shame if we couldn't picture them in our publications with the hole.
Have no fear, Photoshop lets you "Subtract" a shape from another shape making a perfect donut clipping path... Just follow along in our tutorial: Clipping Path Makes the Hole in the Donut |

It may not be Photoshop bu the application you are importing the image into. Make sure when you apply the clipping path that you turn on "Include Inside Edges" or something of the like. By default, InDesign or Quark will only apply the outside paths first.

Actually, when generated as per the tutorial supplies, and saved properly, InDesign and Quark both place the image with clipping paths in tact. At the end of the tutorial, in the InDesign screen, the logo was simply placed. No other settings were made.

Thank you, I think that solved my problem. I must have been creating the inside paths with the "subtract" selected without even realizing it before.

I think you just missed a little thing. After selecting pen tool you need to click on "Paths" button and then "Exclude overlaping path areas" button from the standerd tool bar. How ever if you are in trouble with lots of images thats require clipping path you can find a clipping path service provider for quick and better services.
