Default Macintosh vs. Windows

Most graphic design professionals will agree that the Macintosh is the better machine for Photoshop and image processing.

However, with enough memory, a fast enough bus, large enough hard drive, and well maintained security, a Windows based laptop can be nearly as good as a Mac.

Here's the snag:

For image processing, as a stand-alone work device, dedicated to Photoshop and image processing alone, Windows would be fine.

However, most people who purchase a laptop intend it to be a multi-purpose computing machine -- meaning they're going to use it for email, online use, word processing and other uses, at home or in travel.

For this you SHOULD NOT use a Windows or Microsoft based computer.

The FTC, and HostExploit have documented more than one-million exploits for Windows based computers. Additionally, last year there were more than 600,000 windows breaches reported and documented by the Pentagon.

An operating system so poorly designed and implemented should never be connected to the outside world via any network, removable storage device, or wireless connection.
