Default WHAT HAPPENED to my LAYERS?!

Okay so this has happened on two photos of mine:

I've edited the picture, and made a couple of layers in the process, and I save it to complete. HOWEVER, when I look at the picture on Preview, or open it up in a picture program, one of the layers is completely missing! Invisible! Just an empty area of nothingness around where it was! But it's funny, when I open the file on photoshop, the picture is there! All of it intact--layers and everything!!

I even tried merging them all into one layer, but it still opened up with an invisible spot on the page where the layer used to be!

What is happening!!

Hi JonMichael,

Just wondering... do you have an alpha channel in the channels palette? If so, that might be acting as a mask and blocking certain parts of the image when viewed with the Preview application.
