Default What filter to use?

I want to know how to take a normal picture and make it look like a graphic, or painted or something. anyone know which filter i use and the settings to set the filter to?

also on blending to pics together. how do you get the second pic on the same project as the other pic in a layer?

Part 1

First try the "Artistic" filters under the "Filters" menu...


Next, you add in the second image for montaging by simply getting the move tool (tap V), then click on the image in the image window and drag it into the target Photoshop window. It will arrive there on its own layer, selected and ready to position or reduce.
