Kasam's tutorial suggestion is good, except it may not work in many versions of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Since Daryl didn't specify which version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, nor which computer platform, we've posted a GENERIC tutorial which will work in most ALL image editing programs that support layers. See: http://www.photoshop911.com/type/image_in_type.html Please ALWAYS let us know which version! Others are encouraged to add other methods of doing this trick. ![]() |

Yes, it's a generic technique that's worked in ALL versions of Photoshop and other image editing programs back since version 3.
![]() Any time you have an ACTIVE SELECTION you can go to another layer with an image on it and "pick up" that image into the selection using the "Command / J" (Cntrl/J) command which is the "float" command... meaning: you'll "float" a copy of the image encompassed in the selection. Additionally, you can COPY any image from another layer or file, and then use the command "Paste Into" (since PS version 2) to PASTE the image INTO the active selection. Selections are your friend. Selections mean EVERYTHING (almost) in Photoshop Learn Selections, and everything you can do with them and you'll probably know more than most other Photoshop users who don't know selections.
